➽ History:

She had lived most of her life in the desolate wilds, in a hut where no one would wander. The only thing she remembers about her past is the fact that her parents died when she was barely a child, not even 12 years old. Not sure how, not sure when, but one day, they just didn’t return to their hut. Amariel grew up alone, with the comfort of the surrounding forest and creatures, books that she found in her home. The literature she read was enough for Amariel to understand the surrounding world and her origins.

At about her 155th year, Amariel noticed strange birds roaming the skies and wilds, disturbing the creatures that hid in the forest. She had been curious enough to step out and see more than once, but the creatures she had grown up with threatened her not to do so.

When she was near her 200th year, Amariel refused to listen to the creatures threats and left the wilds with the help of her dagger, found hidden in her parents room. She took no books, no armor, only whatever food she had scavenged, a bundle of herbs, a rolled up bandage and two home-made torches. The map at her hut showed that the closest populated location would be in the Jagged Teeth mountains.

The journey paused about a few days later, the roughness of the surrounding world too much for Amariel to handle. She rested at a quiet village, where no one would bother her about the details of her appearance as long as she shared her healing knowledge. Her search for the truth stopped, seeing as the villagers told her all she needed to know – about the dragons, the Sacred Star, the battling factions and the outside world. Amariel soon found herself enjoying the company of the people, no matter what race or origin, and stayed there for many years to come, healing and helping others.

Almost a 150 years later, much had changed in the village. There weren’t as many people around, most moving to live in bigger, more populated areas. The ones who didn’t leave were old and frail, encouraging the dusk elf to travel, spend her youth adventurously, find a nice man, create a big family… It was a sign that she should leave before being left alone completely. So she did. Continuing her journey, the elf reached the original destination and got with the Vanguard faction, spending her time as she did in the village – healing, helping others and keeping her past safe from other minds.

Although this information is engraved into her mind as true, recent events and surfacing memories are starting to prove otherwise. Amariel is no longer sure whether her family is truly deceased, nor if she truly spent her life in the hut as previously thought. The first few hundred years of her existence are a very big blur at the moment and she is hoping to clear it up very soon.

➽ Interesting Extra Info:

  • Is surprisingly easy to get along with... as long as you don't abuse her kindness;
  • Has a tome of magic that she's currently studying;
  • No longer holds her past close, for she has no idea if it's even accurate to her memory;
  • Loves festivals and big events, especially dancing;
  • Wishes to learn how to wield a sword;
  • Can't communicate with dragons;

➽ Relationships:

 Rabak - a friend dragon, almost like a pet to Amariel. The first flying creature she had ever met, although happily so. Even though the bond they share could be described as one that a rider and a dragon have, she cannot communicate with him nor share emotions, only assume them. A jealous little creature, but loving nonetheless!

 Aras - best friend, helped her through a mission and is the closest thing she'll ever have to a brother. He was the first humanoid she met in Vanguard and, surprisingly, he stuck with her up until the ash began to fell from the sky... Then he became distant, almost cold in her regard. She has not seen him in a long while and hopes that he's okay.

✦  Drake Odero - her current romantic interest, although they have not been reacquainted properly just yet. A long-time companion, someone she could consider to be her greatest lover, although their paths separated a long time ago and have not crossed until just recently. He taught her all the tricks that came with romance, allowed her to follow his lead as they ventured across Khalla, seeking adventure in every form. This man knows most of her most precious secrets, although she knows many of his as well, since they did not hide things from one another. In all of the world, Amariel could fairly say she trusts him the most, however this time they spend apart has made that idea dwindle. She hopes to fix this.

✦ Vendel - a really close friend, saved her life, so Amariel has a soft spot for the guy. Even though he had first wandered in to her home in search of healing, the male elf remained to help Amariel fight back a force she hadn't been prepared to face. After saving her life from a mysterious demon, the stranger remained and allowed her to repay him through friendly chatter and medicine. The night turned in an even more shocking direction when the two got along better than expected and shared an intimate moment, despite it being deemed a one-time experience by the woman herself. She found out that the man was in fact an assassin for hire not long after that, but nonetheless, they departed to meet again another day. Since then, they had a few more pleasantries shared in-between, though a recent confession has left them on shaky grounds. Amariel hopes to talk to him at some point and clear some things up... Hopefully without anymore awkwardness.

✦ Vanora - acquaintance.

✦ Justin Moore - her good friend, as well as past lover. Their first meeting was unpleasant, to say the least - he had stumbled in with recent stitches and requested further healing. She, in return, demanded that he would try out her potions, since she had no idea what their effects would be. After reaching an agreement, they played around with the vials to a point where Justin had to get even heavier medical assistance, sadly. She managed to get him away from death's grasp, somehow, and they began to get along just slightly better. Otherwise, they were both as stubborn as mules and it was probably what got them together again in the future.

The second time they met she was the one who acted first. Justin had been wounded by raiders, ones that destroyed his home and murdered his father, and was nearly dead at some edge of the forest. Amariel returned him to her home, with some difficulty, and helped him regain his health. During this time, the man persuaded her to focus more on potions and helping others, unknowingly pushing her away from the path of magic as well. She did not mind it, however, quite happy to be of help to anyone, especially someone as handsome as him.

That was when he confessed his affections to her as well, leaving her quite stunned. But Amariel did not deny that he had truly sparked a warm emotion in her heart, something she could only describe as love. She accepted his confession and expressed her own, leaving the two quite happy as they embraced soon after, relieving a temptation shared for too long.

Afterwards, many events happened that pushed them both close to the edge of death, but they persevered, solely to the connection they shared and the strength of their affection. Amariel still worried about his well-being, as well as the terrors that seemed to plague Justin's dreams, but she hoped that with her presence by his side, they could pull through it as well.

The relationship has changed since then, with the two parting in separate ways, due to Amariel's personal wishes.

 Terrowin - a friend, although she feels like the creature dislikes her. Still, the more time she spends with him, the greater of a connection she can feel with the dragon. She hopes to one day pass the barrier and fully communicate with Terrowin. And maybe apologize for hurting Justin so much at their first meeting.

 Ronan Oakenthal - friend, someone Amariel greatly respects. He helped her make her trip to the hut and back safely, as well as sharing knowledge that not many could possess. She finds the animen to be a wise elderly figure in her life, even if they haven't met many times, and hopes that others see him in that light as well.

 Javelin Lockewood - acquaintance.

 Aryelin Pondholmacquaintance.

 Yivati Dameyana Loom - acquaintance, caught Amariel's interest with her personality.

 Hektor Nelesthir - acquaintance, would like to keep her distance from him... for now.

 Nervidlia Endel Shrike - acquaintance.

 Tesla - friend, her "patient", usual customer for specific medicine.

 Lupomol Coutre - friend, her one-time patient, along with his dragon.

➽ Roleplay Example (recent RP between Amariel and Hektor):

The moment his eyes laid on the book, the presence dwindled from excitement, spreading across the room like a cool mist. Amariel felt the soft tremor this caused, although remained at rest, if it could be called that. She was awake, but only in her mind. She saw the room through someone else‘s eyes, yet couldn‘t focus for long enough to realize that. Her body shifted just barely as the presence crept closer to the book on the table, a familiar man standing right beside it. And then, it rattled again, pleading to be opened by the stranger.

At this thought, the woman tensed yet again, a part of her somehow wishing she could halt him, tell him to look away and leave. The other part pondered about his well-being, a distant mirage of her beloved playing alongside the man‘s. Just as she had begun to ease and let herself drift back into unconsciousness, she noticed the other glance back... at her. Immediately, pain yet again snapped into her head like a needle, the image subsiding momentarily after that. Only then did she begin to awaken, a soft breath passing through her lips, although all these images slowly wiped themselves from her mind, along with the one‘s of the hours before.

It took her a good while to actually open her eyes and be rid of the darkness, although even so she felt quite lost, unsure of what she was doing in this cold place. Did she not go to bed?... It‘s so late and she was so tired. Amariel listened to the shuffle of feet just on the other side of the room and sighed silently, doing her best to awaken. Only then did it hit her that someone else was there. Her golden eyes widened in fear, head turning to see the figure amidst all the blackness. They were looking at the table, their back fully turned to her, as if she hadn‘t even been there.

Quietly, Amariel slipped her hand beneath her dress and ran her fingers across the metal of a blade, revealing the beloved dagger. She thumbed it almost idly whilst rising up from the chair, fear and newly found determination urging her to be swift and discreet, her steps merely a drop of rain amongst the others that had begun to gather outside the window. As she approached, the scent of blood tickled her nose, forcing the woman to part her lips and grimace, pausing in her tracks just enough to regain some cognitive thought. Not enough to trust this man, it seemed. Her dagger sprung from behind to the front of his neck, the icy blade gently grazing his pale skin.

“Don’t touch it.” Her voice was grave, dripping with threat she very well knew could turn into reality. What didn’t quite make sense, however, were her words. Don’t touch what?... Where had that even come from? Amariel frowned to herself, although remained vigilant and pressed the blade just slightly closer to his flesh, a little bothered by the fact that she could not see his face. She glanced at the table for a second to see where the man had been looking and noticed her tome, out in the open as if she had never hid it. That alone was not a good sign.
